The Calgary Stampede
July 8-17, 2011

The Calgary Stampede features 10 full days of bull riding, chuckwagon races, and tobacco chewing.
By the way, four out of five cowboys do not chew tobacco while riding a bull.
The real fun comes at night, with all the cowboys camping out under the stars ... singing to the cows ... breakdancing around the campfire....

When attending the Calgary Stampede, the two most important things to remember are to take lots of money and be careful not to sit on a branding iron.

The Calgary Stampede features the exciting chuckwagon races. The only way to make the chuckwagon races more exciting would be to forget the campstove and, instead, try to throw a greased Brahma bull into the chuckwagon -- and then ride him during the race.

The Calgary Stampede is the world's biggest wild west show, with more cows and horses and cowboys than you can imagine. They say on a clear night you can smell it all the way to Texas.

The big event at the Calgary Stampede is the chuckwagon races. That's where teams of deranged cowboys throw their campstoves in a covered wagon and race around and around behind six lunatic horses.
People travel thousands of miles to watch this -- even though all they can see is dust.
Can you imagine how popular this sport would be if they did it on ice?

The Calgary Stampede is such a big event, cowboys from all over the world stampede into Canada for their big chance to fall off a horse or get run over by a chuckwagon.

During the famous Calgary Stampede, thousands of Albertans pretend they are Texans by dressing up like cowboys and Indians and chasing bulls and cowgirls. The call it the "Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth." See! They even sound like Texans.

During the Calgary Stampede they stir up so much dust, all over Alberta the marmots stop whistling and start sneezing.

The Calgary Stampede is the greatest outdoor show on earth and features the world's wildest rodeo, prettiest cowgirls, and drunkest sheep ranchers.

Millions of cowperons mosey into Calgary for a 10-day Wild West extravaganza. It's a great opportunity for those who want to turn back time, get away from the rat race, and take time to stop and smell the horses.

The Calgary Stampede is underway in Alberta. This year legendary cowboy Dallas DoorNail lit the Stampede campfire and threw out the first cow.
It was Dallas, you may recall, who uttered that famous saying, "I only regret that I have but one neck to break for my country."
